Medical terminology is necessary for anyone interested in a health profession and/or a health related occupation. The development of medical vocabulary using a body system approach incorporates the combination and interpretation of word elements. Medical prefixes, suffixes and anatomically related word roots are combined to form anatomical, diagnostic, symptomatic and operative complex medical terms related to the human body and various specialty areas.
